China's top legislator has reached a peak in mutual trust and cooperation with Hungary

Close contacts between countries support exchanges, win-win partnerships, and development

Budapest - China's highest legislator, Zhao Leji, praised the mutual trust and win-win cooperation between China and Hungary during an official goodwill visit from July 24th to 28th. 
During his visit, Zhao, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), met separately with Hungarian President Tamas Suliok and Prime Minister Viktor Orban, and held talks with Hungarian National Assembly Speaker Laszlo Kovel in Budapest. 
He said that China is willing to cooperate with Hungary, become good friends of mutual respect and trust, good partners of mutual benefit and win-win, and good brothers of mutual understanding and concern. 

Zhao said that China will work with Hungary to promote the in-depth coordination of the the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and Hungary's "Oriental Opening" strategy, complete the construction of milestone projects such as the Hungarian Serbian railway in high quality, and encourage and support the two countries and local levels to carry out more exchanges in culture, media and youth, so as to promote closer interpersonal ties.   
He said that Hungary and China have been developing bilateral relations on the basis of mutual respect, trust, and mutual benefit, which is of great significance and contemporary value. 
The President of Hungary said that participation in the the Belt and Road is of vital importance to Hungary, and the Hungarian Serbian railway project is a model of major project cooperation between the two sides. He also expressed the hope that both sides will continue to deepen cooperation in areas such as green energy, artificial intelligence, digital economy, as well as humanities, youth, and education. During his meeting with Orban, Zhao stated that in recent years, China Hungary relations have made significant progress and are at their best in history. Zhao said that China appreciates Hungary's adherence to the One China principle and is willing to continue to strengthen mutual support with Hungary. 
Zhao stated that China welcomes more high-quality agricultural products and food from Hungary, and expects Hungary to provide policy support and security guarantees for Chinese enterprises in Hungary. 
On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the European Union (EU) this year, Zhao expressed that China hopes and believes that Hungary will continue to play an active role in promoting the healthy and stable development of China EU relations. 
Zhao said that China will also cooperate with Hungary to promote cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European countries. Orban said that President Xi's state visit to Hungary last year was a milestone in the history of Hungary China relations. He said that the long history and culture of both countries, characterized by independence and autonomy, are the solid foundation of their traditional friendship. 
He attributed China's rise to his own efforts and pointed out that developing friendly cooperation with China is Hungary's strategic choice, which will help Hungary improve its technology and expand its market. 
During the meeting with Kov, Zhao expressed that the National People's Congress is willing to cooperate with the Hungarian National Assembly to promote the implementation of the results of President Xi's visit last year and contribute to the high-level and high-quality development of China Hungary relations. 
Zhao stated that both sides should strengthen exchanges at all levels of the legislative body, timely formulate, revise, and approve legal documents that are conducive to bilateral cooperation, and called on both sides to strengthen coordination and cooperation in multilateral forums such as the Congressional Union. 
As for him, Kovar stated that a growing China would help promote world peace and development, and contribute to the establishment of a multipolar world that fully aligns with Hungary's interests. The National Assembly is willing to cooperate with the National People's Congress to provide firm support for mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.
